Razia Sheikh was an Indian javelin thrower who achieved several notable firsts:
- She was the first Indian woman to cross the 50-meter barrier in javelin throwing, which she accomplished at the 1987 South Asian Games in Kolkata with a throw of 50.38 meters.
- She won gold at the 1987 South Asian Games, setting a new Games and national record.
- She represented India at two editions of the Asian Games – 1982 in Delhi and 1986 in Seoul.
- She broke the national record for the best throw by an Indian female javelin thrower in 1986 with a throw of 47.70 meters.
Over her career, she won 25 gold medals and 12 silver medals in national tournaments. She was awarded the Sardar Patel award by the Gujarat government.
